About Kirsten

Kirsten is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist ,with over twelve years of experience, who works in private practice offices in both San Francisco and Oakland.  She holds a Master's of Science in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University, and her work consists of long-term, psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy focusing on the relational aspects of the presenting problems, but she also does shorter-term dynamic work when indicated.

Her clinical training and expertise includes therapeutic work with children, adolescents, adult individual, couples, family and group therapy.  She has specialized training and extensive experience in treating a variety of clinical issues including teenagers, parenting, eating disorders and body image distortion, substance abuse and recovery, self-injury, blended families, personality disorders, grief loss and depression, and sexuality.

She has worked in residential, day treatment and outpatient settings, and provides supervision to interns and consultation to professionals.  She is a candidate at the Masterson Institute for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

Kirsten does not bill insurance or managed care carriers for services.  Therefore, payment is due in full at the time of service, and you may request a monthly invoice to submit for third-party re-imbursement.

Kirsten also employs Hasya Bruckmann, MFT Intern, a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in her San Francisco office.  Hasya's work includes in-depth psychotherapy as well as body-oriented psychotherapies.
